Go fun the work!

With over 80 million monthly visitors, 9GAG is the world’s leading online social platform for fun content. Inspired by 9GAG’s web and app interface, LAAB designed a minimalist black and white interior juxtaposing the raw industrial shell of a mini-storage warehouse, turning a factory interior into a cool yet playful office with plenty of natural light. Three key values of 9GAG— transparency, a culture of sharing, and sense of community—were also translated into our spatial design.

The 5,000 sqft is divided into three major areas: “9PARK,” “9DESKS,” and “9SHEDS”.

“9PARK” is an undefined wide-open space carpeted in green. The area is large enough to organize “Town Hall” events and daily meetings, as well as games and indoor camping.

“9DESKS” has islands of white open desks that are shared among different project teams based on daily needs. Adjustable sit-stand stations allow employees to change postures as they work. The communal kitchen at the heart of the space breaks up the otherwise cold working environment.

“9SHEDS” are enclosed meeting rooms along the desk area. These rooms are defined by distinctive dimension, mood, privacy and transparency to fit different types of meetings and workshops.
